WE’RE BAACCCKKKKK…...

 

Now that we have been able to put the pandemic behind us, our fundraisers and activities will be in full
swing for 2024.
On November 25th , 2023, we held our 4th Annual “Preserve a Life” Turkey bowl. Our Turkey bowl is a flag
football tournament with the winning team hoisting the championship belt and having bragging rights.
The winning team will return the following year to defend their title. ALL players and referees MUST
wear a life preserver while playing on the field.
This year we had 75 players that made up the 9 teams. This is an extremely fun tournament, however all
the players are VERY COMPETITIVE with TEAM MIRANDA winning for the second year in a row.
SOOOOO YES, he has a target on the back of his life preserver lol.
Our events could not be a success without our AMAZING VOLUNTEERS!!! This year we saw an increase
in spectators which just added to the beauty of the day. We had burgers, dogs, chili, chips, water, and
Gatorade for all to purchase as well as the 50/50 raffle. We also had informational brochures on water
safety, first aid kits, and water bags to use while on the water to keep electronics safe and dry. Our
50/50 winner was the lovable Maggie Theriault.
All funds/ donations from our events are used for scholarships and donations toward the foundations
mission, CHaD and water safety are two very important focuses.

The Turkey bowl is held every year the Saturday after Thanksgiving. EVERYONE IS INVITED to join in or
watch. You don’t have to have known Alec to join in the fun at our events COME ONE COME ALL!!! I can
promise you will hear some great stories about Alec.
We want to thank ALL our supporters, volunteers, and this amazing community without you none of
these events would be able to function.
